Albert L. Cleveland, who has lived in the Nuckolls County Nursing Home here for some time, died Tuesday in the Superior hospital. He would have been 95 the 17th of this month.


Mr. Cleveland was a farmer for many years in the Nora vicinity before retiring and moving to Nora.


Three sons, Clarence of Oak, John of Kansas and the third of Council Bluffs, Ia., and one daughter, survive.


Funeral services are planned for Sunday afternoon at two o'clock in the Klawitter funeral chapel here, and burial is to be made in the Nora cemetery (sic).

Albert L. Cleveland, age 94 years, 11 months and 7 days, died Tuesday morning in Superior, Nebr. Mr. Cleveland was born Nov. 17, 1866, on a farm in Michigan. Later he moved with his parents onto a farm near Concordia, Kan.


He was the son of Van Ranssler and Sarah Jane Cleveland. He was baptized in the Baptist church (sic).


Mr. Cleveland was a farmer in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. On May 3, 1890, he was married in Concordia, Kans., to Albertha Vogal, who preceded him in death.


On May 3, 1940, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at Nora, Nebr., where he had resided for many years.


To this union was born five children, Clarence of Oak, Nebr., John of Burden, Kans., Leslie of Council Bluffs, Ia., Bertha Mae Hundley of Cornelius, Ore., Lovina Marie Graham, who preceded him in death. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.


He was one of the early pioneers who settled in the territory of Oklahoma and back to Kansas by covered wagon. Later he moved to Nebraska where he resided until his death.

On Nov. 24, 1954, he married Mrs. Lura at Red Cloud, Nebr., and they made their home in Superior until her death. In this family he leaves to mourn several step-children and grandchildren.


Services were held in the Klawitter chapel Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5, with Ewel Vaughan, Christian minister officiating.


Vocal music was rendered by Harry Shaw, Joe Ferebee, Vic Crandall and Claude Dillman, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Helen Kennedy. Pallbearers were Fred Stanley, Earl Petz, Ben Lanham, Ed Lanham, Orvis Jones and Frank Thayer.

Many out-of-state relatives attended the funeral.
