Isaac Wheeler Stanton, b. in Stonington Jan. 14, 1743, m. Ruth Ayer, daughter of John and Abby (Cook) Ayer, Sept. 19, 1765. He lived in Preston until eight of his children were born, and then removed to Vermont. He d. in 1829, aged 86 years; his wife d. aged 75 years.
