Daughter of Felix P. Tully and Didema Jane Kirby of Henderson County, TN. Second wife of William "Archey" Cole who she married on January 25, 1866 in McNairy County, TN. After the death of her mother, Didema, her father Felix married the sister of Sarah's husband, Archey Cole, 19-Jan-1865 in McNairy County, TN.
She gave birth to 14 children; Henry A., Samantha Idella, Edgar Demoore, Eveline Pamelia, Emma R., John Boone, Lillie J., Sallie Belle, Almer Lee, Angie Elizabeth, Solen Perry, Blan Clavern, Chloe, and Archie Eli.
A story was passed down through the family that Sarah Tully went onto the battlefield following the Battle of Shiloh, in search of her brother, Lemuel Britton "Lem" Tully, who had been wounded during this battle. Lemuel Tully was a member of Company "I" 12th Tennessee Infantry in the service of the Confederacy in the war between the United States and the Confederate States.
The actual date of death for Sarah Tennessee Tully Cole is unknown, but would have been after June 27, 1900 (the date of enumeration of the 1900 Census of Bolivar Township, Poinsett County, Arkansas) and before William "Archey" Cole's marriage to Alsie Rebecca Clampit Peck on January 28, 1909 in Poinsett County, Arkansas.
