Willis and Tilithea McArthur lived in Lamar County, AL and we suppose they lived there for a number of years. However, they moved to Steens, MS and then on to McArthur, Arkansas, in Desha County. McArthur is located not too far from the Mississippi River. Willis and Tilithea moved via covered wagon and crossed the Mississippi River on a flat-bottom boat. It is said he moved there because his brothers and sisters had already moved there.
