Willard Leslie Coffey, 86, of Vinton, died Friday, June 27, 2008. He retired from Atlantic Greyhound after 32 years of service. He was predeceased by his parents and only brother. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Phyllis Thompson Coffey; two daughters, Sylvia (Hylton) Glass of Goode, Va., and Barbara (Preston) Osborne of Rustburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He also served in the Seabees #521 during World War II. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 29,2008 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Lotz Vinton Chapel. A Chapel service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday at the Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Stephan Shackelford, the Rev. Guy Ritter, and the Rev. Gary Fowler officiating. Interment at Glade Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made payable to Glade Creek Lutheran Church for fellowship hall renovation, 3359 Webster Road, Blue Ridge, Va., 24064.
