Interment in Highland for Former Okemahn

Services for Geraldine Busby Barrett will be conducted Monday, July 8, at 11:30 a.m. in the Smith and Kernke Funeral Home Chapel, 23rd and Douglas, Oklahoma City. Graveside rights will be held at Highland Cemetery in Okemah at 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Barrett was born December 19, 1914 in Dustin, Oklahoma and died July 5 in Wesley Hospital, Oklahoma City, after a short illness. She was 48.

She is a graduate of Okema High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha. She was married to J. M. Barrett Jr., February 09, 1935. They moved to Enid and in 1942 to Wichita, Kansas, and Oklahoma City in 1958. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband of the home, 2617 Pembrook Terrace in Oklahoma City; 3 daughters, Mrs. Floyd L Meade of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Garry K. Smith, Topeka, Kansas, and Miss Beth Barrett of the home; her mother, Mrs. E. E. Busby, 501 S. 3rd, Okemah; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers at the graveside services will be W. N. Barry III, Barry Price, Bill Riddle, Kerry Baker, and Phil Standley.

Rev Gary F. Skinner, pastor of her church, will officiate at the Oklahoma City services and Bill Bradley, pastor of the First Christian Church, Okemah will conduct the graveside rites.

Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
