CIVIL WAR VETERAN SUMMONED BY DEATH

Theodore Warne of Parr Passes Away at Early Hour Sunday Morning; Funeral Tuesday.

Theodore Warne of Parr, a veteran of the civil war, passed away at the Jasper county hospital at 1:30 o'clock Sunday morning, following an extended illness resulting from a complication of diseases. Mr. Warne had been a hospital patient for two weeks prior to his death. He was aged 80 years, having been born in Ohio Feb. 11, 1845.

Mr. Warne was a resident of Union township for many years and is well known throughout Jasper county. He was of a deeply religious nature and an estimable citizen in every respect. The greater part of his life was devoted to farming.

The deceased was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away about three years ago. He is survived by two sons, Leavitt, of Laurens, Iowa, and Everett, of this city; also one daughter, Mrs. John McClanahan, of Hommand (Hammond)

Funeral services will be conducted at the Christian Church in this city at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and will be in charge of the Rev. M. V. Foster and the I. O. O. F., of which the deceased was a member. Interment will be made in Weston cemetery.
