Goldie Mae Gailes was born January 25, 1989 in the Prince George County area of Maryland. She was the daughter of Henry Gailes and Joanna Brock and she had two brothers, George Arthur and William.
Goldie married John Boteler and they had one daughter, Ruth. She and John later divorced. She retired from E.R.C.O., a company that made tubes for radios. She spent the last years of her life in Riverdale, Maryland.
When she was 84 years old she fell and broke her hip and complications caused her death on March 3, 1982.
She was my maternal grandmother. This was a family in constant turmoil and, unfortunately not very close. I regret not having more good memories of my Grandma.
