Graveside services will be held at noon on Friday, May 6 at the Pioneer Cemetery in Bishop for Hazel May (Brown) Lawrence.
Born Feb 7, 1919 in Effingham, Kan., Hazel died peacefully at Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop on April 28, 2005.
Hazel married the one and only love of her life, Victor C. Lawrence, on Dec. 6, 1936. The moved to Sacramento and raised two daughters, Vicki Sue and Linda Kay. After many successful years in business, they retired and moved to Bishop so that they could be closer to family.
Hazel was a terrific gardener and cook, especially the "chocolate angel pie." She enjoyed golfing, camping and fishing with Vic and shopping with Vicki. Hazel also loved spending time with her great grandchildren, Corey Thomson, and Kiara "Tiddlywinks" Cox, and her beloved dog, Mandy.
Her family and friends will miss Hazel very much, but they celebrate in knowing she had such a long, full and beautiful life.
She was preceded in death by Victor in 1998.
Hazel is survived by Vicki and Wayne Cox of Bishop; Linda Snipes of Dunn, N.C.; Tawni, Jeff and Corey Thomson of Bishop; Brandi and Kiara Cox of Reno, Nev.; Joel Snipes, Pat Snipes and Amy (Snipes)Crook of North Carolina; and many other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also blessed to have several very special friends, including Jan Barron, Rachel Moose, Joyce Walker, and John and Sandy Dailey.
