Parents Bowman and Margaret were married in St. Anthony's Church @ 4th & Main in Davenport on
9 Feb 1869 by Fr. J.A.M. Pelemorgues. Margaret moved to Davenport from Rochester, New York with her parents in 1856 when she was 5yo. She attended St. Anthony's parochial school for all denominations - the first Davenport school. Bowman ran a bakery business with his brothers on the corner of 3rd & Perry where the Blackhawk Hotel stands, later he was a constable and a restaurant owner at 309 Brady. He and Margaret started an employment agency and they were members of the Scott County Pioneer Settlers Assn. where he served as president.
Bowman Joseph 1879, Nathaniel H 1882 and Naomi 1884 followed Emily. Sister Elizabeth preceded and is also buried with her on the John M. Eldridge lot.
