Moses Tousaint Baer was a minister (elder) in the Church of the Brethren.

History of the Church of the Brethren in KS (Craik), page 271:
1861 he moved to Flowerfield Mich. In 1868 or 69 he was elected to the ministry.
He served on Standing Committee of Annual conference in 1877, 1880, 1883, 1893, 1894, and 1898.

In 1887, he was a member of the committee appointed by Conference to locate a college in KS. McPherson College was the result of the labors of this committee.

In 1889 he moved to Fristoe MO, where he spent his last days.

He is described as having been “a man of much more than ordinary mental ability, a good, clear thinker, and one who knew how to present his thoughts in a logical forcible manner.” He was the author of a work entitled “The Christian Sabbath Defended.”
