CANDOR - Zelda Allred Byrd, 69, of U.S. 220, Norman, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1993, at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 11 at Norman United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Roger Paxton and the Rev. Dexter Gibson. Burial will be in Norman cemetery.

Mrs. Byrd was born April 1, 1924, in Richmond County to Ernest and Lula Yates Allred. She was a member of Norman United Methodist Church and was retired from Samarkand Manor.

Surviving are daughters, Randie Huntley of Aberdeen, Rue Nell Mabe of Jackson Springs, and Sandra McCallum of Candor; brother, Robert Allred of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Tenita Caudill of Star, Melody Love of Troy, Andrew Vernon of Southern Pines, Terry Vernon of Candor, Brad Mabe of Jackson Springs, and Shannon Mabe of Jackson Springs; four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3109 Poplar Wood Court, Suite 125, Raleigh, N.C. 27604.
