Virgie KERNS, 92, of Perryton, died July 23, 1994.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, at Balko Mennonite Brethren Church,
with Rev. Terry Danley, pastor of Perryton Church of Christ and Rev. Elmer
Delozier officiating. Burial followed, under the direction of Boxwell Brothers,
in Gray Cemetery.

She was born November 2, 1901 in Carter, Oklahoma, and had lived in the Balko
area most of her life. She married William R. "Bill" KERNS in 1923 in Granada,
Colorado. He died in 1947.

She was an Avon representative in the Balko community for 30 years, and also a
member of Church of Christ in Perryton.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Robert, and a sister,
Ruby.

She is survived by one son, Roy KERNS of Balko; four daughters, Dorine COCHRAN,
Wilma CRAIN and June ANDERSON, all of Perryton, and Virginia FRANTZ of Guymon,
Oklahoma; one brother, Delma CHERRY of Loveland, Colorado; three sisters, Thelma
BENNETT of Garden City, Kansas, Olivia CROWDER of Alamosa, Colorado and Jo PEDEN
of Loveland, Colorado; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
