Bio by WLS.
He is a 1st cousin 1x removed to Eugene Murray Simmons.

4/05/16: Per a cousin of his, we were told his middle name was Newton, after his grandfather, since all records found said only Ralph N. Westfall. Just found military records, with birthdate and place of birth saying his middle name (which he signed) is Norman. So have changed here and in family trees.
