DAVIS, Tirzah C. BANKS – {from The Springdale Yellow Jacket} Mrs. Tirzah Davis, mother of W.M. Davis, has passed away to the beautiful home that awaits all sincere followers of Christ. Mrs. Davis was a true Christian. She was buried yesterday. Her remains were followed to the grave by a large number of friends and relatives.

Died at the residence of J.S. Patterson in Springdale, Ark. July 17, 1883 Mrs. Tirzah C. Davis. Mrs. Davis was the mother of L.P. Davis, W.M. Davis and Mrs. J.S. Patterson. Her maiden name was Banks. In January 1846 she marred to Green Davis. In 1854 she was left in widowhood by death, with four small children dependent upon her for support and her constant prayer was to be permitted to live long enough to raise her children and train them for God and for Heaven. In early life she professed religion and joined the M.E. church and many will bear witness of her constant zeal and truly consistent every day Christian life. She was a great reader of the Bible. She suffered much physically during her illness but in all she was resigned to the Divine will.
