SOLEDAD - Forrest S. Handley, 89, passed away Saturday at Eden Valley Care Center. Forrest was born July 31, 1918, in Long Beach. He moved with his family in 1944 to the Salinas Valley, where he farmed for 50 years. He was very active in his community, serving as a Boy Scout leader for numerous years. He was an avid sportsman and loved dancing and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Irene B. Handley, on July 1, 2003.

Survivors: sisters, Chrystal Richards of Ridgefield, WA, and Carolyn Cox of Upper Lake; brother, Milton (Dorothy) Handley of Stockton; sons, Garon (Julie) Handley of Greenfield and Brian (Annette) Handley, M.D., of Lincoln City, Oregon; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

At Mr. Handley's request, there were no services. Arrangements were by Whitehurst Terry Funeral Service, 395 East St, Soledad, CA. Published in
