Oscar was born May 29, 1914, to William and Ella (Loessin) Angerhofer at Grant County. His mother died when he was two years old and his father married Laura Rudolph. He attended Albin Township 2 and 6 country schools. He then worked for various farmers in Grant County and in North Dakota and Minnesota. He worked at the Big Stone Canning Factory and also helped load ice from Big Stone Lake into railroad box cars.

He married Alma Schultz October 19, 1938 at Milbank. He worked for a farmer near Ortonville, MN for four years. In 1942 the couple rented and then purchased their farm in Alban Township. Mrs. Angerhofer died in 1992. He continued to live in rural Big Stone City until entering the Northridge Residence in Ortonville about nine months ago.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Alban Township and served as a church elder for many years. He enjoyed farming.

Survivors include a son, Arlin (Verna); two daughters, Judith Giese and Carolyn (Harlan) Monson; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step-brothers, Robert (Olga) Angerhofer and Harold Angerhofer; and many nieces and nephews.
