Information emailed to me by Janet on 11/20/2011.

At the time of this writing in 1983, Grace Bigbie's health had necessitated her in settling into the Carnegie Nursing Home where she became the newest member of the Ninety Plus Club.
The below information was gleaned from that article.

Grace Bigbie was the second child of Steve and Molly Taylor, She was born January 17, 1895.
Seven more children came later. The family lived north of present Mountain View. Grace completed eight grades in the local schools and when she became of age, she married a local neighbor farmer, John Marvin Bigbie.

Three boys and two girls were born into this family Grace not only kept house for five children , she also milked cows and did field work as needed. She was an avid gardener of fruit, flowers and vegetable. These she canned for winter.

Her life was a whirlwind of activity for many years. In her lifetime, she was the grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was also a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church and the Rebecca Lodge. Her husband died in 1969.

Many years later, her poor health necessitated her settling into the Carnegie Nursing Home. She was the friendly person in the wheelchair who would greet you as you come down the corrider of the north wing of the nursing home.
