VERA R. HAYES, 79, of Memphis was born in Amory, MS, August 22, 1928 to the late Joe Marion and Annie Bell Reese. She passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Hayes was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of North Memphis Freewill Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Wayne Jones; sisters, Leola Garrett Davidson, Inola Grace Rogers, Juanita Lee Reese Crabtree and Madjie Kathleen Clifford; brothers, Jetty Carrell Garrett and Jimmy Kreston Garrett and is survived by her husband of 42 years, W. Donald "Don" Hayes; daughter, Kimberlie Plunk of Southaven, MS; sons, Clyde Millerd Jones of Hendersonville, TN and Donald Hayes, Jr. of Memphis; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 19, and a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m,. Friday, June 20, both at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with the interment to follow in Memory Hill Gardens.
