Alexander Davidson passed away at 10:50 o'clock today at his home. He had been ill two weeks suffering from pneumonia. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Friday at Grant Park Church with Rev. S. A. Hughart officiating. Burial will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Mr. Davidson was born on December 3, 1853 in Grandview and was a resident of Mattoon 45 years. Most of his life was spent in farming. He was a member of Christian Church. He is survived by sons, John Davidson, Joe Davidson, and Charles Davidson, all of Mattoon; daughters, Pearl Prichard and Jessie Ritter, both of Mattoon, and Bessie Gilbert of Alton; and sister, Sarah Mathias of Des Moines, Iowa.
