The Rev. C.H. Allison, 99, of Taylor Road died at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

He was a retired United Methodist minister and for the past four years was the oldest minister in the South Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Between 1940 and 1969 he ministered at Crothersville Charge, Batesville, Newbern Charge, Acton-London, Barth Place in Indianapolis, Park Place in Jeffersonville and Elizabethtown. He also was assistant at East Columbus United Methodist Church.

He was a member of South Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Asbury College.

Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at East Columbus United Methodist Church with the Revs. Jack Haskins and Leslie R. Bearden officiating. Calling will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Asbury College Library Fund.

The Rev. Allison was born in Davies County July 19, 1899, the son of John C. and Etta Swan Allison. He married Glen Irene Horrall Oct. 6, 1923, in Washington, Ind. She died May 1, 1989.

Surviving are daughters, Vera LeMasters of Lakeland, Fla., Doris Fogle of Woodstock, Va., and Jo Childs of Hope; grandchildren, Wendy Whitson of Columbus, Dan Childs of West Lafayette, Diane Knippers of Arlington, Va., Douglas LeMasters of Fairfax, Va., and Terry and Randy Fogle, both of Fort Valley, Va.; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, John Edwin Allison; brothers, Ralph and Lew Allison; and a sister, Elsie Dayton.
