LEDO J. "TALLY" PASTORELLI, of WALL, formerly of Sea Girt, passed away Saturday, June 14, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after a brief illness. Tally, born May 9, 1918, in Cuddy, Pa., was the son of the late Giuseppe Pastorelli and Cesira Morganti. He was a master sergeant in the Air Force and a World War II veteran. He was a member of the Officer's Candidate program at the University of West Virginia. A brilliant man and devoted father and husband, in recent years he dedicated himself to caring for his wife, Dorothy. Ledo has a long list of academic honors and had a career in sales, having served as a district manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance before retiring some 30 years ago. Blessed with a wonderful dry sense of humor, he was a vivid storyteller and an avid reader, and enjoyed lively political discussions. Perhaps his greatest love, next to family and his Italian heritage, was music. He loved to sing, especially with his daughter, who sang at his bedside. Most importantly, he lived a life based on solid traditional values and the highest integrity. He was a former member of the Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Church of the Guardian Angel.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Reno and Gino; two sisters, Cesira of California, and Rosa of Pennsylvania; and a son, the late actor Robert Pastorelli. Pastorelli is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Gwen Pastorelli; four granddaughters, Tara Marie DiGiovanni, Donna Marie DiGiovanni, Gianna Li Pastorelli, and Maria Pastorelli; and extended family in L'Aquila, Italy.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Route 35, Wall. Fr. Brian Butch will celebrate the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Holy Innocents, Route 33, Neptune. Internment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.
