Funeral services for Bena G. Dickey, Rt. 1, Quitman, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, 1959, in the Forest Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. L.A. King, Quitman, Rev. Arthur Dimsdle , Mineola, and Rev. C.W. Pollard, Quitman, officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery, with Cain Funeral Home, Quitman, directing.
Mr. Dickey was born on Nov. 13, 1877, in Hunt Co., Texas, and passed away, following a lengthy illness, at his home, on June 25, 1959, at the age of 81.
He was a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church, and a member of the Flora (Masonic) Lodge No. 119 Al & AM, of Quitman. He was a retired farmer, had lived in this county for 40 years, and was well known everywhere.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Worley Dickey, Rt. 1, Quitman, (2) daughters, Mrs. J.O. Robinson and Mrs. Fred Sandifer, Dallas,. One brother, Walter Dickey, Dallas,6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
Pal bearers were: Mack Burks, Maynard Weems, Sam Gilbreath, Garland Hibbs, E.M. Reeves, Sam Reeves.
