Maurice Wimbley Hitchings, 90, died Monday, June 16, 2008, in Elkhart, Kan.
Graveside services will at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Marella Cemetery in the Griggs community with the Rev. Jerry Coldren, officiating. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City.
Mr. Hitchings was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Wellington, Kan., to Henry Guy and Nellie Mae Wimbley Hitchings. He married Myrle Lowery on Dec. 29, 1935, in Raton, N.M.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Hitchings and Herbert Wayne Hitchings.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Barnes of Boise City; a sister, Margaret Lowery of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Henry Hitchings of Fontana, Calif.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.
The family suggests memorials be to Marella Cemetery.
