Henry died in bed on 21 Mar 1928 at the age of 43 in the home he had built on Buchanan Street in Pocatello. His wife Mary, his children, and his home teacher, Lamoni Tolman, were gathered around him. It is believed that he died of heart failure, possibly brought on by a weakening of his heart over many years of recurring episodes of fever. Usually about once a year, Henry would get very sick with a high fever. The fever was possibly from Malaria, which he contracted while serving an LDS mission in Florida. His death certificate lists para-typhoid fever.

Henry preceded his wife, Mary, to the grave by more than 50 years.

General physical characteristics:
5'9" tall
