Harold L. Barbour, 82, of route 3 died at 5:25 a.m. today at Bartholomew County hospital following a 4-day illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Hathaway-Myers funeral home by the Rev. Harold McElwee. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery.
Persoins may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until time of services Monday.
Barbour was born Jan. 29, 1894, in Bartholomew county to Francis W. and Carrie Bradford Barbour. He married the former Maude E. Fodrea, June 3, 1923, in Columbus, and she survives.
A retired farmer, he was an Army veteran of the first world war and was a member of the Wilson Chapel Christian Union church. He also was a member of the Elizabethtown Masonic lodge and the American Legion.
Other survivors include a son, Ross Barbour of Granada Hill, Calif., who is a member of the Four Freshmen singing group; a sister, Mrs. Russell Beaty of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Don M. Barbour, in 1961.
