On October 11, 1952 she married Robert Batey in Forsyth, MT. After their marriage they lived on a ranch up Rosebud Creek. In 1968 they moved to the Hook Ranch. They then lived in Rosebud for a time and retired in Forsyth.
Dorie enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event that her children and grandchildren participated in. She enjoyed working on the ranch with her husband. Her family was the center of her life.
Dorie was survived by her husband, Robert Batey of Forsyth, MT, her son Randy (DeeDee) Batey of Colstrip, MT, her daughter Becky (Mark) Zimmerman of Billings, MT, her grandchildren Chad, Jon, Shannon, Kasey and Levi and 8 great-grandchildren, three brothers Donny (Marian) Nidge, Barry (Donna) Nidge and Mike (Linda) Nidge all of Miles City, Mt, two sisters Phyllis (Jim) Martin of Missoula and Anita Pearl of Salt lake city UT , two sister-in-laws Evelyn Batey of Miles City and Carrol Breeden of Friday Harbor WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorie was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew Mark Nidge.
