Myrtle Ahrens, Fontanelle, Dies
FONTANELLE - Mrs. Myrtle Ahrens, 78, of Fontanelle, died early today at the Adair county Memorial hospital at Greenfield. She had lived in Fontanelle for the past 48 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ewing funeral home at Fontanelle. Rev. Evan Routh will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Russell Vanderhoef.
Mrs. Ahrens was the widow of the late Dr. L.H. Ahrens who practiced medicine in Fontanelle for many years before his death in 1966.
She is survived by a son, Edward Ahrens of Des Moines; a grandson and granddaughter and two sisters.
