Mrs. Mary Frances Smith Austin, aged 83 years, 9 months and 23 days, died at her home near Mineral Spring, April 8, 1921. She was married to C. H. Austin, January 28, 1858, who now survives and is younger by one day than Mrs. Austin. To this union were born six children, four of whom are now living, Mrs. Eliza E. Hartis, M. L., C. C. and H. A. Austin. Two children died in infancy.
Mrs. Austin profession religion in 1862 and joined the old Waxhaw Baptist church, where her remains were laid to rest Saturday, April 9, in the presence of a host of friends and relatives. A consistent christian for these many years, having won the victory in her own heart, she died in the faith of a hero.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. Marsh and Rev. Zeb Caudle.
