He was an early settler of Rockton Township, and he may have resided with David Teague, perhaps his brother, and his family when the 1840 census was taken. He married in Winnebago County, Illinois as her second husband, 16 January 1842 to Susan B.(Carpenter) Foster, and they were the parents of perhaps four children. He had resided in the north-east quarter of section three, land later purchased by William H. Farmer. They removed to Newark Township, Rock County, Wisconsin several years prior to his death.
