Nancy Hough Notes: John Thompson Brickey was born in Botetourt County, Virgiia, the son of James Allen and Priscilla (Gish) Brickey. He married to Frances Elizabeth (Gish) (She later married to John F. Collins) Frances and John had two sons, William Cotney (died young?) and Joel Allen Brickey who married to Nellie Mae Dawson. Joel was my great-grandfather.You can also find this family listed at LEARD Cemetery, in ARKANSAS......because it is on the state lines (AR/OK) I suppose that is why there are duplicates here. Richard Meador states:
Good Evening, Actually there are 58 known burials that are in Arkansas. The origional cemetery was in Arkansas, If you look on the map you will see a fence line on the east side that runs all the way except for about 100 feet it then goes back about 100 feet this area about 100 X 100 is the origional Leard Cemetery and when it expanded pre 1900 it went into Oklahoma. ALL BURIALS ON THE ARKANSAS SIDE ARE PRE 1900. i have a 1997 survey. I work with the lady that is taking care of the books. All the book work is in Pocola, Oklahoma & all caretaker work provided by Oklahomans. There are quite a few burials in this cemetery that are not listed or even marked. I do not live in this community and started photographing Leard because of findagrave requests.
