SAXE - John B. Burton, 75, died at home Tuesday, November 6, 1962. He was born March 13, 1887, in Halifax County, VA. Mr. Burton was a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ola Allen Burton; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Louise Burton Newton of Chase City; five sisters, Miss Lillian Burton of Staunton, Misses Lottie and Rose Burton of Richmond, Miss Pansy Burton of Oxford, NC, and Miss Janie Burton, and two brothers, J. K. Burton of Richmond and Frank Burton of Montgomery, AL; and three grandchildren, Virginia Newton Minnich of Harrisonburg, Mary Newton Davis and James Newton of Chase City. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Mamie G. Burton and Ruby L. Burton, and a half-sister, Virginia Edna Burton Bailey. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wylliesburg Baptist Church Cemetery. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
