Ilah Lee Treadway McJunkin



Hickory, N.C. - Ilah Lee McJunkin, 74, of Hickory, passed away June 12, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley after a period of declining health.

Ilah was born June 12, 1934, in Catawba County to the late Johnnie Lee and Jeanette Biddix Treadway.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Claude M. McJunkin.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical & Reformed UCC and retired from the furniture industry. Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Kanipe Ryan of Murray, Utah, and Kathy Lea Kanipe Haithcock and husband, Colonel John Haithcock, of Fort Sill, Okla.; granddaughters, Lauran Dutson of Murray, Utah, Megan Ryan of Las Vegas, Nev., Evin Haithcock of Williamsburg, Va., and Laura Haithcock of Chickasha, Okla.; grandson, Justin Ryan of New York; sister, Violet T. Michael of Hickory; and brothers, Olin L. Treadway and wife, Marilyn, of Hickory and Arnold M. Treadway and wife, Ruth, of El Paso, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, at Faith Evangelical & Reformed UCC, with the Rev. Harry Griffin officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight, Sunday, at Hickory Funeral Home.
