Abraham was the son of Jasper Marion Luke and Sarah Land. He was married to Emily Elizabeth Faulkner and had one son Joseph Edward Brown Luke. Abraham enlisted as a private in the Confederate States Army on 2 May 1862 at Nashville, Georgia. He served with Company I, 50th Georgia Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia. He died of sickness in Oglethorpe Barracks Hospital, Savannah, Georgia on 14 Jul 1862. He was buried on his father's farm near Rowetown, Berrien County, Georgia. Jasper sold his farm about 1868 and moved to Brooks County, Georgia. The last time I visited this cemetery, the property was owned by a hunting club.
