Mabel Beth Davis was born on Valentines Day, 1921, in Ellis, Kansas. She was the eldest daughter of Oscar and Helen Babcock.

She grew up south of Prospect Lake in Colorado Springs, and attended school at Helen Hunt Elementary, South Junior High, then graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1939, the last class of CSHS before it was rebuilt as Palmer High School.

She married Cecil Davis in 1941 before he shipped out to serve with the US Army Air Corps in India. They began their family in 1945. Her oldest daughter, Barbara Wilson, preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter, Donna Withers and son, Brian Davis, who both live in Colorado Springs.

Mabel is survived by a sister, Ann Henry, by brothers, Richard Babcock and Duane Babcock and, who all live in Colorado Springs. She has 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

All who knew her loved her and will miss her gentle way and loving smiles! Mabel retired from Sears Roebuck Credit Department after 21 years of service.

Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E Fountain Blvd. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
