"Lee"
Age 75, at rest Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Lifelong resident of New Lenox, residing at Veterans Home in Manteno for the past three years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carolyn (nee Barman); one son, Kurt Blair; and two daughters, Lora (Doug) Dittman and Lisa (Jim) Balstrode; six grandchildren, Savannah and Isaac Blair, Joshua and Jacob Dittman, and Jurgen and Emilee Balstrode; and his mother, Verna Phillips.
Lee was a US Army veteran, a member of Peace Lutheran Church, New Lenox, and retired from Caterpillar Tractor after 33 years of service. Lee enjoyed camping with his family and working with the Boy Scouts. He also enjoyed boating, water-skiing, gardening, and wood-working. He loved to travel and he and his wife visited many countries. Lee was a friend and helper to all and always had a smile. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Myron Blair.
Family will receive friends at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 2-7PM. Visitation Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Peace Lutheran Church, New Lenox, from 9:30am until time of service at 10:00am. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno would be appreciated.
