Obituary: Lena A. Ruyle MEREDOSIA -- Lena A. Ruyle, 90, of Meredosia died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at Heritage Manor South, Beardstown. She was born March 10, 1908, in Meredosia, the daughter of Samuel and Frances Fannie Floyd Newman. She married John Ruyle Sr. in 1924 in Jacksonville; he died in 1985. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dean Ruyle; and three daughters, Loretta Flynn, Linda Lou Asbury and Sharon Lee Ruyle. Mrs. Ruyle was psychiatric aide at the Jacksonville Developmental Center for several years and worked as a cook for the Meredosia schools and several local restaurants.
Survivors: three sons, Lawrence (wife, Sally), Leon (wife, Carol) and John Jr. (wife, Wanda) Ruyle, all of Meredosia; two daughters, Mrs. David (Doris) Hilton Sr. and Mrs. John (Connie) Petri, both of Meredosia; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Thompson of Beardstown and Imogene Hetzfeld of Fredricksburg, Texas.
Services: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Schafter-Cody Funeral Home, Meredosia.
Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Meredosia.
