BACHOTA - Edward W. "Mr. Ed," 93, of Twin Rocks, passed away June 7, 2008, at home. Born Dec. 9, 1914, in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Andrew and Sophia (Wojtowicz) Bachota. Preceded in death by wife, Etta Mae (Hauck) Bachota; infant granddaughter, Lisa Dawn; great-granddaughters, Ashley and Jennifer Marie Charnesky; and sisters, Josephine Dziadoz, Stella (Buck) Bachota and Camila Kriston. Survived by children, Betty (James) Charnesky, Nanty Glo; Stella Woodley, Hastings; Edward Jr., Littlestown; Fred (Nancy), Ebensburg; Donald (Nancy), Ebensburg; and Shirley (Abe) Gray, Blairsville. Member of SS. Timothy and Mark Roman Catholic Church, Twin Rocks. Former coal miner at the late Big Bend Mine with 20 years of service. Owner and operator of Clark Powell's Restaurant in Ebensburg for nearly 55 years. Member of Knights of Columbus, L.O.O.M. and a social member of VFW Post 4963, all of Ebensburg. Ed was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan and also enjoyed throwing horseshoes. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Timothy and Mark Church, the Rev. James H. Conrad, STL, celebrant. Committal, St. Charles Cemetery.
