Mrs. Julia Ione Cox Dead

Mrs. Julia Ione Cox, formerly Emporian, died Tuesday at the home of her sons, Will and Ray Cox, in Kent, Wash.

The body will be brought to Emporia for burial. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Mrs. Cox was born June 15, 1853 in Parksburg, W. Va., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Henderson. She married the late Granville W. Cox in Parkerburg in 1870. She came to Emporia 65 years ago and lived here until moving to Washington in December, 1945. She was a member of the Free Methodist church.

Mrs. Cox is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Salser, 17 South Commercial; four sons, David Cox and Alexander Cox, Exter, Calif.; Will and Ray Cox, Kent, Wash. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband who died in Emporia in 1929 and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Cloptin, who died in 1943.
