Oscar Olson passed away on (very dark copy and can't make out the day of the week) while he was at the city hall, showing the members of the city public property committee the fire extinguishers which he is the agnet for. Mr. Olson, who was 73 years of age, had been in seemingly good health but a heart attack took him suddenly. He was at one time employed at the Oliver Typewriter factory until the time that it closed here.
Mr. Olson leaves to mourn his sudden passing, his wife and two sons, Robert and Clarence, and one gradchild, Margaret Olson, the daughter of the Robert Olsons. Mr. Olson was born in Gottenberg, Sweden, but has spent most of his life in this city where he has lived a retiring life, respected by the entire community.
His son, Robert, is an efficient employee of the State Bank and Clarence is the band and orchestra leader in the public schools, where he is highly praised for his work with the children.
The last rites will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 3:30 p.m. from the home. Rev. Bruce Gillis will have charge of the services. Burial will be in this city.
Woodstock friends extend their sympathy to the family in their sad hour.
-----
Oscar was the son of John and Olina Olson. He came from Sweden between 1885-1888 and married Rena Nelson in 1893. They settled in Woodstock, IL.
