Jess Larison, son of Robert and Emily Larison, was born at Bedford, Iowa, on November 27, 1882, and passed away at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior January 12, 1964, at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 15 days after an illness of three weeks.

He was married to Sadie G. Winder at Bedford, Iowa, November 27, 1907. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Fredo Bergman, and Charles R. Larison of Nelson, and Donald Jess, who passed away in infancy.

Mr. Larison and family moved to Nelson, Nebraska in 1919 where he was a grocery clerk in several stores and City night watchman for several years.

He was a member of the Nelson Christian church. He served on the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department for several years.
His dear wife preceded him in death on July 5, 1928, and a sister, Mrs. A.C. Deyo, died in October, 1928.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Fredo Bergman, and son, Charles R. Larison, one grandson, Robert Bergman, and five granddaughters, Maralee Jo of Spokane, Washington, Cyndia Rae, Patti Cae, and Melanie Sue Larison and Sharon Kay Meyer. There are three great-granddaughters, Tammy, Darcy, and Christy Meyer of Nelson. There is also a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Smith of Eugene, Oregon, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Larison was a wonderful friend, father, and grandfather, and it can be truthfully be said of him, "It is more blessed to give then to receive."

Services were held Wednesday January 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the Klawitter Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Schwartz (sic) officiating. Interment was in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
Pallbearers were Glen Chapman, Bill Throngburg, Walter McCutchan, Ralph Aikin, Jake Chapman and Harlan Meyer.
