Kerrville Daily Times (TX) June 11, 2001 > Kerrville-Mr. Lloyd Allsup, age 84, of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2001 in a local hospital. Mr. Allsup, a resident of Kerrville since 1982 and a prior resident of El Paso, was born January 23, 1917, in San Antonio, to William Thomas Allsup and Eathel Hensley Allsup. Lloyd was a retired salesman for a heavy equipment/mechanical equipment company. He married Vera Sandel on November 30, 1946 in San Antonio. He served his country faithfully during World War II, serving in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vera Allsup of Kerrville; one daughter, Caren Diaz and husband, Steven, of Stanberry Park, UT; one son, Richard and wife Jacque, of League City; two sisters, Dorothy Kost and Evelyn Chumbley, both of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Shawna Allsup, Randall Allsup, Steven Diaz, Jr., and Patricia Diaz; one great grandson, Chase Allsup, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Garden of Memories Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
