Ronald Broom, "Red", 63, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008.
He has lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army vetern and retired from U.S. Pipe in 2003 as a coremaker after more than 33 years of service. He also loved working on Ford Trucks and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hattie Broom; his wife, Elsie McClure Broom; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda Paradise, of Rossville, and Sharon and Eddie May, of Flintstone, Ga.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Randy Broom Sr. and Keith and Amanda Broom, all of Rossville; brother, Lonnie White, of Nashville; sisters, Reba Sprague, of Chattanooga, and Deloris "Tootsie" Brown, of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Heather, Hollie, John and Dillon Henley and Randy Broom Jr., Rachel, Kayla and Christopher Broom; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Monday, June 9, 2008, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother Terry Burns officiating.
Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
