Leonard E. Arnold Jr., 73, Topeka, died Aug. 11, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Arnold was a dairy farmer many years, and he later worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Washington State. He also had been a mechanic and specialized in hydraulics on heavy equipment for International Harvester in Quincy, Wash. He later worked for Northwest Yacht at Bremerton, Wash., until he retired in 1987. He served in the Marine Corps in China during WW II.
He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Topeka, the son of Leonard E. Arnold Sr. and Wynona M. Allen. He had moved from Topeka to Washington State and back to Topeka many times over the years, and he returned to Topeka permanently in 1987.
He married Eleanora Dschaak on Aug. 4, 1944 in Bremerton. They were divorced.
Survivors include three daughters, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by two sons, William A. Arnold,Dec. 22, 1951, and Steve Arnold, Dec. 27, 1972.
