Sarah died in Delmar, Clinton, IA from a chloroform and laudanum overdose. She was divorced from Charles and was going to a hotel to meet a man. (Clinton newspaper).
She is buried on her father's plot. Sarah and Charles had 1 son Lewis Micajah Asher b ca 1861 in Davenport. His whereabouts are not known.
