Eugenia "Jean" A. Bellamy, 96, of Walker, Minn., died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at the Pillars Hospice House in Oakdale, Minn.
Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Walker with Father Mark Coen, Father Paul Halloran and Deacon Hap Ramsey officiating. Interment was at St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery in Drayton, N.D.
She was born Aug. 18, 1913, in rural Stephen, Minn., to Dennis and Philamene (Balduc) Carpenter.
She and her husband Russell farmed in the Drayton, N.D., area for many years. When they retired, they sold their farm and moved to Arizona, which was Russell's lifelong dream. The couple lived in Arizona for several years and eventually moved to Walker to be near family.
She lived a very active life until taking a fall in February. She enjoyed quilting, playing bridge, bingo, keeping up with the Minnesota Twins and spending time with her family and friends. In her younger days she was a great bowler and curler. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three children, Jacqueline (Edwin) Raney, Darryle (Donald) Carlson and Richard Bellamy; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.
The Dennis Funeral Home of Walker, Minn., handled arrangements.
