FRANKLIN — Milton H. "Zuke" Sipes, 79, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana. He was a resident of Franklin.

Milton was born in Bloomington, Indiana to Ralph and Amanda (Hensley) Sipes on Nov. 21, 1928.

He was a construction heavy equipment operator for several years. Later he was co-owner of Indiana Decorating in Johnson County doing commercial painting/decorating for 40-plus years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Milton was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed camping, stock car racing, and motorcycles. He also was involved in local rodeos and horseback riding for many years.

Survivors included lifetime companion-best friend, Cecilia "Agnes" Endicott of Franklin; three daughters, Molly Lu and husband Eddie Hurm, Nashville, IN., Nancy M. Hurm, Indianapolis, Amy Carol Sipes, Indianapolis; and one son, Barney Christian Sipes, Spencer, IN.; four sisters, Betty Jane Speas, Greenwood, Marcella Thacker, Greenwood, Sandra Sipes, Indianapolis, Diane and husband George Wetzel, Nashville, IN.; and one brother, Melville and wife Audrey Sipes, Greenwood; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
