Roy Glenn Bohannon, a senior at East Central High School, was killed in a traffic collision that occurred in the late evening hours on Saturday night. Roy was the passenger in the vehicle his friend was driving. The vehicle was speeding north bound on Yale Avenue around the 900 block and collided with another motorist who had just pulled out from a convenience store parking lot.

In the late 1960’s I met Roy and half sister, Reba, at Mazie’s Landing on Fort Gibson Lake, where my parents also had a little trailer. His step-dad and mom refurbished an old school bus and they would spend a lot of time there in the summers, especially on the weekends. I also met his cousin, Rocky Huber and his sister Starr Huber, at Mazie’s Landing. We all spent a lot of time fishing, swimming at the boat ramp, and playing softball on weekends, when there enough kids there to field a team. We made a lot of great Summer memories. - Laura (Young) Hanley
