Mrs. Kathryn B. Moore, age 88, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008, at the McCreary Health and Rehab Center in Pine Knot, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Staley and Bro. Roger Bryant and Rev. Mark Sewell officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 -9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moore was born on November 16, 1919, at Greenwood, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Hattie Belle (Haynes) Bryant. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She was an English major at the University of Kentucky where she met her husband, Henry Moore, Jr. whom she married March 8, 1941. She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, East Point Lodge in Pikeville, Kentucky. She devoted her life to her family and other relatives and was a faithful member of her church.

Preceding her in death are her parents Robert and Hattie Haynes Bryant, her husband Henry Moore, Jr. who passed away on January 21, 2004, and three brothers, Cressel, Harold, and Arnold Bryant. Surviving family include three daughters, Nancy Moore Nevels (and Ralph) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Janice Riggs (and Phil) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Brenda Stull (and Bill) also of Lexington, a sister Opal Garrison of Lexington and a brother-in-law, Ed Alley of Michigan. She has two grandchildren Tricia Moore and Rachel Fisher and two great grandchildren Zachary Denniston and Blake-Henry Moore.
