Charles married Lorraine Youngerman on June 29, 1945. They had two daughters, Cheryl and Mary.
On March 24, 1967, he married June Hogan. He adopted son Jerry and had a step-son Jim Griffin and step-daughter Kathleen.
Chuck spent many years building clocks and making things from wood. He loved fishing. He was a World War II veteran and retired as a foreman after 40 years with Borg Insturments in Delavan, WI.
Before his death, he decided he wanted to be cremated and buried in Delavan Memorial Arboretum.
He died on March 9, 2003, just a few days before his 81st birthday. His burial and memorial were held at Delavan Memorial Arboretum on Father's Day, June 15, 2003.
